If you ever get into an accident with a hydro pole, stay inside the vehicle.
LYNEDOCH - Nobody was injured after a 20 year old man crashed into a hydro pole in Lynedoch on Tuesday afternoon.
The man was trapped inside his vehicle for over an hour. He had to be rescued by Hydro One crews, who had to turn off the power in the area to make sure the man could exit his truck safely.
Dustin from Hydro One says if you ever get into an accident with a hydro pole, stay inside the vehicle.
"We just want to remind people, if you are out and about and get into a little fender bender with a hydro pole and wires are down, don't get out of the vehicle, we will be there as soon as possible to get you out."
Police say this could have been very dangerous, perhaps even life threatening had the man tried to get out of his truck after the crash.
A BIG thank-you to our #community partners @HydroOne. The #NorfolkOPP would like to share a great reminder & safety message from Dustin & Ben. #DriveSafely ^es pic.twitter.com/Po3xYvNnAm
