The Woodstock Santa Claus Parade will be taking place this Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
WOODSTOCK - The holiday spirit will be alive and well in downtown Woodstock.
The popular Santa Claus Parade will be taking place this Saturday evening and the theme this year is Santa's Workshop.
Manager of Special Events Kristen Brodhagen says everything will get underway at 6:00 p.m.
"It will start at the Woodstock Fairgrounds, follow right along Dundas Street, and end in Victoria Park. We have some incredible community floats, marching bands, and large inflatables. It's also a night parade so it's just spectacular."
There are about 60 entries this year and the parade should last about one hour or close to 90 minutes.
Brodhagen is encouraging parade-goers to bring a non-perishable food item with them.
"The Salvation Army has paired up with the Woodstock Navy Vets, so they will be collecting food donations along the parade route. So we encourage people to bring a donation and they will also be collecting monetary donations for the Salvation Army as well."
Volunteers are still needed for the Woodstock Santa Claus Parade, and those who are interested can fill out the form online here. You can also click here for more information about the parade including a map of the parade route.
