It's the annual trifecta of Santa Claus Parades in Oxford County Saturday
It looks like mild conditions today for Oxford County's three big Santa Claus Parades.
The celebration gets underway this morning in Ingersoll at 11 a.m.
It should be sunny to start the day, but then expected to cloud over during the afternoon when Tillsonburg's parade gets going at 2 o'clock this afternoon. It should be a mild day with an expected double-digit high of 10 degrees.
Later tonight, Woodstock's parade is set to roll down Dundas St. starting at 6 p.m. There is rain in the forecast, but not until after midnight, when the parades are put to bed.
Woodstock BIA Manager Kelly Morrison says they will be collecting along the parade route to support the effort. "We are very fortunate to have the support of the community and some corporate sponsors. But the rubber meets the road the night of the parade and we rely on that cash collection to keep the parade going. It costs $18,000-$20,000 to put the parade on."
Parade Marshall Jerry Acchione tells Heart FM they'll be collecting along the route to support next year's parade. "With a lot of help from everyone at Gord Anderson's automotive. We've got just over 20 people that are going to be going through the parade, during the parade taking donations. This is what pays for the parade."
There are 95 entries in the Woodstock Parade.
