The See You at the Movies Program offered by the Woodstock Art Gallery has been bringing award winning critically acclaimed films to the city for 21 years.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Art Gallery is celebrating 21 years of their See You at the Movies Program.
On the last Monday of every month the gallery selects an art house type of film to bring to Woodstock at the Gallery Cinemas. Some of the movies they have lined up this year include Dark Horse, Hunt for Wilderpeople and Captain Fantastic. Curator Mary Reid tells Heart FM why they offer this service.
"So we feel that is very important to support Canadian Filmmakers and other critically acclaimed filmmakers, so generally these films are considered art house films and are not the normal roster of blockbusters that you see at Cineplex or a Famous Players Theatre. I should also mention this is not a fundraiser for the Woodstock Art Gallery. We run this on a cost recovery basis and we try to keep the costs as low and as reasonable as possible. This isn't a fundraiser for the gallery this is a service we are providing to the citizens of Woodstock to bring amazing award winning films to Woodstock."
The first movie of the season happened in September and it featured a local actor Jackson Martin in the critically acclaimed film Sleeping Giant. You can find more information on the line-up of movies this year and where to get your tickets online here.
