We currently have 85 active cases in the region, however 66 of them are from Aylmer and are related to an outbreak at the Ontario Police College.
OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health is reporting 3 new cases of the virus today and 2 resolved cases.
We currently have 1 person in the hospital with the virus and they are currently in the ICU. The Health Unit is reporting 85 active cases with most of them in Aylmer. The rise in cases in Aylmer is related to an outbreak at the Ontario Police College. The Police College outbreak currently has 67 cases and 60 of those cases are showing up on the SW Public Health dashboard. The policing recruits who tested positive are currently living in Aylmer at the College, which is why they count towards the Aylmer numbers. Everyone who has tested positive at the Policing College is currently in self isolation.
Here is the breakdown of the locations according to Southwestern Public Health:
Woodstock - 13
Ingersoll - 2
Blandford-Blenheim - 2
Tillsonburg - 2
Aylmer - 66
St. Thomas - 3
Central Elgin - 1
Bayham - 1

The Health Unit is also reporting just 1 active outbreak at local long term care homes at the Aylmer Retirement Residence. Southwestern Public Health is currently in the orange-restrict level the opening Ontario Frame work. We will be in the orange level for at least 2 weeks, unless the Province decides to use the "emergency break" and push us to red or grey.
