Police are warning the public to never leave vehicles running and unattended as are the perfect opportunity for thieves.
NORFOLK COUNTY - The OPP had to use a spike belt to catch two car thieves in Norfolk County.
Police say a man and woman were charged after they were able to safely stop a pick up truck that had been taken from a Connaught Avenue address in Delhi on Friday.
The investigation revealed the vehicle was left running in the owners driveway when it was stolen.
The suspects were were taken into custody without incident at a McDowell Road East address.
Police also discovered a stolen vehicle in the area that had been abandoned and set on fire.
OPP have charged 22 year old Brandon Thomas of Six Nations with the following offences:
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Fail to stop for police
Drive motor vehicle - no licence
Fail to comply with probation order
Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
Theft under $5,000
Theft over $5,000
Arson
In addition, 30 year old Sarah Lee Ann King of Brantford is charged with the following offences:
Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
Theft over $5,000
Arson
Both suspects are scheduled to appear in Simcoe court at a later date.
