Downtown Woodstock will see the Summer Streetfest return in August.
WOODSTOCK - Summer Streetfest returns to Woodstock.
The community will gather to see live bands, street performers and different vendors on hand.
Manager for the Downtown Woodstock BIA Virginia Armstrong says they've come up with different ideas to make this year's event unique.
"We've got our headliner Sarah Smith on the Friday night and then on Saturday night we have Group Therapy and the OCD Horns, pretty fantastic local entertainment. And our focus this year is 'Loving Local' so a lot of our performers are coming from the areas of Kitchener to London and within those parameters."
The annual festival will bring crowds to Dundas Street in August, which will be closed.
Armstrong says the event is for the whole family, where their food trucks this year will present more of a fair-like atmosphere with the kinds of food they serve, ranging from popcorn to donuts.
She adds they also have some new activities.
"This year we've got ball pits coming, inflatable ball pits for the young ones to take part in and we also have some retro gaming, which is going to be really exciting. Also we have inflatable Twister, we have Connect Four in an inflatable version and we're also encouraging people to bring their refillable water bottles because we're going to have a refill station in front of Museum Square."
The Summer Streetfest is free and it goes from August 9 to the 11th. It will run from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm on Friday and Saturday and from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday.
