INGERSOLL - It remains a waiting game for the GM CAMI Assembly plant employees on strike in Ingersoll.
Members of the Unifor local 88 union were in Detroit yesterday to meet with GM. Unifor Local 88 President Dan Borthwick says the talks were very constructive and they are expecting a response from the company in the next 24 hours.
"We went down to Detroit yesterday to discuss our outstanding issues with the higher level GM employees in Detroit. We believe we had a very constructive conversation yesterday, they understood our issues and where we are at and at the end of the day they said they would need to think about it and gave said they would let us know in 24 hours."
Borthwick explains what they will do when they get the response.
"As soon as we get the response from General Motors, we will discuss it as a Masters Bargaining committee and we will be communicating to our members as usual."
