Four drivers were charged in four separate incidents in Oxford County over the weekend.
OXFORD COUNTY - The need for speed has gotten four drivers in trouble.
The Oxford OPP laid charges in four different incidents over the weekend. The incidents began on Saturday morning at 2:00 a.m. when a 25-year-old from Brampton was clocked at 160 km/h on Highway 401 in Blandford-Blenheim. Then at 2:45 a.m. that same day, officers spotted a 39-year-old from Waterloo traveling at 180 km/h on the same stretch of highway.
On Sunday at 12:00 a.m., officers caught a 16-year-old Woodstock resident on Sweaburg Road going 138 km/h in a 60 zone. Around 2:30 p.m. the same day, an 18-year-old from Ingersoll was caught going 111 km/h in a 50 zone on Road 60 in Zorra.
Each driver is facing a charge related to stunt driving, along with 14-day license suspensions and 30-day vehicle impoundments. The driver from Waterloo was also charged with fail to stop on the right for an emergency vehicle and failure to surrender an insurance card.
