Southwestern Public Health says 30 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 last week.
SWPH - COVID-19 cases are on the rise in the Southwestern Public Health Region.
Another outbreak was also declared at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Woodstock on Wednesday, according to the latest outbreak status report that was released a few days ago.
The health unit is encouraging everyone to get vaccinated against the virus. They're administering the vaccine that protects against the XBB variant to high-risk individuals at their Woodstock office and their St. Thomas office. Healthcare professionals will also be able to book an appointment to get their shots at the health unit's offices starting next week.
