The universal masking policy for Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital and Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll will be discontinued as of Monday April 24th.
TILLSONBURG/INGERSOLL - The masking policy is about to be updated for the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital and Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll.
Both of the hospitals will discontinue universal masking as of Monday April 24th. However, patients and visitors will still have to wear a mask whenever they are in waiting rooms or in direct contact with health care workers and other patients.
The masks will not be mandatory in non-clinical and common areas, but they are still recommended. Both hospitals will continue to provide masks for those who choose to wear one.
Hospital officials may introduce universal masking if they feel it's necesary to prevent harm to vulnerable patients and preserve the capacity of the health care system.
