With a quarter of a million dollars on the line, a trip for two around the world and brand new Chevy Traverse redline, contestants of The Amazing Race Season 6 did some filming in our neck of the woods.
PERTH/ INGERSOLL - In the latest episode of The Amazing Race Canada, the popular reality show highlights some areas in Perth and Oxford Counties.
The episode features both Stratford and Ingersoll as the 10 teams complete challenges across the county and abroad to win the race.
Award winning producer Mark Lysakowski says filming in Stratford was a no brainer because of the culture and beauty especially with the Stratford Festival.
"It has got all kinds of things and it is a town that should be on this show and be able to showcase its story and history to the entire country."
Contestants this season are all heroes of sorts, including a paramedic team, community volunteers, RCMP officers and members of the Canadian Military.
With a quarter of a million dollars on the line and a trip for two around the world, contestants in season 6 did has to complete a few challenges while in Stratford and in Ingersoll.
Lysakowski says filming at the auto plant made sense especially because the winners will also each receive a brand new Chevrolet Traverse Redline.
"It is where the Canadian operations for he Chevrolet Equinox, one of their best selling vehicles is assembled and we thought, if we are going to be in Stratford, Cami and Ingersoll is pretty close, so why not include that as part of the show as well. The contestants will have to complete a challenge while working on the line to build an Equinox."
You can catch The Amazing Race tonight on CTV at 8:00 p.m.
