Realtors Care Food Drive

If you find a yellow door hanger on your front door, set out a box or a bag filled with donations before the volunteers stop by to pick it up on Wednesday.

OXFORD COUNTY - Local realtors will be hitting the streets of Woodstock, Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, Sweaburg, Embro, and Innerkip.

The Realtors Care Food Drive, hosted by the Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors, will take place on Wednesday. All donations will benefit local organizations here in Oxford.

Local realtor Tammy Betzner says this includes Operation Sharing, Seniors in Food Crisis, the Helping Hand Food Bank and the Salvation Army Food Bank in Ingersoll.

"There's families in need here in 2025, so we really want to pull together and make sure their shelves are overflowing so we can get them through quite a few months."

If you find a yellow door hanger on your front door, all you have to do is set out a box or a bag filled with donations before the volunteers stop by to pick it up between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Betzner says it's actually a good idea to leave the yellow door hanger on your door.

"The vibrant yellow door hanger really helps us as we're driving and walking back through our routes so we can eyeball what houses to come up to."

The Realtors Care Food Drive collected 38,000 pounds of food in 2024. This worked out to over $121,980 worth of donations, according to the Food Bank Canada guidelines for donation value.
