WOODSTOCK - It's a classic case of who done it, just in time for spooky season.
Deadline will make its debut at Theatre Woodstock on Friday October 17th with seven performances scheduled leading up to the final curtain call on October 26th.
Katie Raymond is one of the 11 actors gracing the stage.
"It's essentially a bunch of mystery writers are sent to island to craft the perfect murder!"
The writers take part in the deadline challenge, where they have to write as much as they can in 24 hours. The writer that can not only design, but also execute the perfect murder will walk away with a million dollars.
Raymond plays the role of Brenda, who she says is mystery in itself.
Shaun MacDonald is another actor in the production, and he says they have the perfect cast.
"Our director (Chloe McGregor) did a fantasic job putting people in the right roles. When we did our first table read back in the summer time as people were getting their roles figured out, we realized oh that was a great choice for that role and then they got on the stage and they start doing it and we see the role was built for them."
MacDonald plays twins on stage; Morris and Norris. Morris does all of the odd jobs on the island, while Norris does the even jobs.
With that being said, Raymond says Deadline or more than just a murder mystery.
"There's also a lot of moments of laughter, which is a great balance with the mystery aspect of it."
MacDonald says it will make you think of popular movies like Clue or Knives Out.
"When I first read the script, Clue was the first thing that came to my mind. Those characters in Clue an the who done it scenario, there are a lot of similarities."
