Maggie's Wake will hit the stage at the Market Centre Theatre this Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
WOODSTOCK - Maggie's Wake will hit the stage at the Market Centre Theatre, just in time for St. Patrick's Day.
Lindsay Schindler is one of the band members who plays the fiddle and she's one of the vocalists. She says they're a contemporary folk band that's influenced by Celtic music.
"We primarily play fiddles, whistle, flute, and we've got a bass player that plays upright and electric bass guitars. We also have piano, accordion, and percussion."
Maggie's Wake will perform traditional Irish folk music, along with some songs off their new album. The album will be released digitally on St. Patrick's Day, but they will have some copies at the theatre for those who want to listen to it right away.
Tara Dunphy is the lead vocalist and she would love to see some audience participation throughout the show.
"We look at it like it's a partnership. Yes we're up there and we're putting on a show, but we're doing it because we want to share the music, so we love it when people sing along and clap. It's all about us being together in the room sharing music."
The show is scheduled for Saturday March 9th at 7:30 p.m. and tickets can be purchased on the Theatre Woodstock website.
Tara Dunphy and Lindsay Schindler called the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Monday March 4th. You can listen to the full interview below:
