A stolen pickup truck crashed into a Woodstock Police cruiser, while officers were responding to a break-and-enter in progress on Bysham Park Drive early this morning.
WOODSTOCK - What started out as a break-and-enter call ended with three people arrested and charged.
The Woodstock Police Service responded to a break-and-enter in progress on Bysham Park Drive at around 4:30 a.m. today. While they were there, the officers found their suspects in a stolen Chevy Silverado pickup truck, which then proceeded to drive into the police cruiser.
Both of the vehicles were damaged in the crash. The officer was not hurt and the three suspects fled the area on foot.
Officers were able to quickly track down one of them afterward. A 27-year-old has been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, break and enter, obstructing a peace officer, and failure to comply with undertaking.
The other two suspects were arrested later on, thanks to help from the WPS Canine Unit. A 53-year-old from Ingersoll has been charged with assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, break and enter, and failure to comply with undertaking.
A 41-year-old has also been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and break and enter.
