An incredible athlete will be named one of Tillsonburg's 'Favourite Sons' for his accomplishments and dedication.
TILLSONBURG - The Town of Tillsonburg is bestowing the Favourite Son honour on an amazing athlete and a phenomenal coach.
Tillsonburg Mayor Stephen Molnar says Chris Fairall will be honoured as one of Tillsonburg's 'Favourite Sons', an honour given to people in a variety of fields for their accomplishments and dedication.
"There have been six previous honourees and Mr Dennis Fairall and his national/international accomplishments and the recognition he has brought to the town of Tillsonburg will be the seventh as recognized on the 30th of October."
Fairall coaches at an Olympic level and Molnar says he has also helped to give back through the Tillsonburg Legion Track Club.
"That was his vision, his motive, and it ultimately has created a legacy not in the actual structure itself, but in the commitment to excellence in sport."
The Favourite Son and Daughter festivities will happen on October 30th at the Bridges in Tillsonburg from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
