The town's Discover Tillsonburg campaign receives honourable mention for excellence in economic development
TILLSONBURG - Tillsonburg has been recognized at the Economic Developers Council of Ontario Awards Gala. The Discover Tillsonburg campaign received an honourable mention for excellence in economic development. The campaign aims to attract residential development to the town. Since the campaign's launch in 2013 Tillsonburg has experienced a growth in home starts. Development Commissioner for Tillsonburg Cephas Panschow revealed the key to the campaign's success.
Over the past two years new home starts in Tillsonburg have increased by 25%. Discover Tillsonburg partnered with several builders to generate interest to the town.
"The town of Tillsonburg was recognized for our involvement and our creation of the initiative called the Discover Tillsonburg partnership."
As Panschow points out the goal has been to increase housing development in the town.
"Essentially it is a resident attraction program where we're trying to attract more people to the Town of Tillsonburg.
