Tillsonburg won the branding award at the 60th annual Economic Developers Council of Ontario Awards Gala.
TILLSONBURG - The Town of Tillsonburg is receiving some high praise for their new branding program.
Tillsonburg won the branding award for a town with a population between 10,000 and 50,000 at the 60th annual Economic Developers Council of Ontario Awards Gala recently. Mayor Stephen Molnar says he is really proud of Tillsonburg's new branding and how it was selected.
"I believe it is extremely proactive and it fits the character of our community. Personally what I am most proud of is while this was an identified part of our business plan and our leadership team and corporate team members were all involved, the real impetus and the growth and the spirit of this opportunity came from just regular people, stakeholders in our community through focus groups and through individual contributions. Ultimately the concept and the spirit of Tillsonburg that is captured in Connected, Enriched and Inspired is really representative of the people of the community."
This is the first time the town has taken top honours in any EDCO category. EDCO 2017 President Christina Kakaflikas says the Tillsonburg brand really stood out to the EDCO team.
"Participating in EDCO’s Awards Program holds communities to a higher standard throughout the year. Allowing communities to learn about winning projects and the ability to compare efforts maintains the need for excellence across the province and throughout all economic development initiatives."
Chief Administrative Officer with the Town David Calder was honoured to see the Town win this award.
"Achieving this level of recognition is a great achievement for our community. The new brand is simple, modern and visually appealing and we're pleased that it’s having such resonance."
