Local artists will be selling their work, with half of the proceeds going towards the Art Gallery and the other half going to the artists at this year's Taste of Art.
WOODSTOCK - The community can see what the Woodstock Art Gallery has to offer at next weekend's Taste Of Art.
The fundraiser is celebrating local art and vendors on all three floors.
Cultural Communications and Facility Rentals Coordinator for the City of Woodstock, Robin De Angelis says the event is about creating connections in the community.
"This is something that's a little bit more of an interactive experience. It's a good way to really show people exactly what the Gallery has to offer, they can wander from floor to floor and really get a sense of what's on display here. They can interact with some of the artists who will be here as well, we've actually got an artist residency that will be starting in September called Calm and Collective."
The Upper Thames Brewing Company and Early Bird Coffee will among the businesses there.
De Angelis explains why this event is important not just for the businesses, but the artists too.
"I imagine that artists, when they're doing their work, it's often a very individual experience but when you come to the Gallery and you have that social experience, it really helps them network. It really helps show the community see why supporting arts and culture is so important and it breaks that divide down between artist and the art viewer and people who enjoy the programs that they have to offer at the Gallery."
She adds local artists will be selling their work, with half of the proceeds going towards the Art Gallery and the other half going to the artist.
Tickets are available for $55.00 and they can either be purchased at the Gallery in person or over the phone at 519 539-6761.
It all happens on September 21st, going from 7:00 - 10:00 pm.
