Recently, scammers are posing as "City of Tillsonburg Water Department" staff, claiming that they need to inspect waterlines on the property.
Mayor Deb Gilvesy expressed her concern for the recent scams.
“It’s most unfortunate that bad actors are trying to take advantage of residents at this time when water conservation is at the forefront of municipal messaging.”
If you or someone you know is victim to one of these calls, hang up immediately and report any crimes where personal information or security codes were shared with the scammers.
