The weather has been pretty decent lately, but that's not an excuse to drive recklessly on the roads out there.
ONTARIO - The West Region OPP has some reminders for drivers out there.
Sergeant Ed Sanchuk shared this message in a video posted on the OPP West Region X page yesterday.
"The nice weather is here, but that doesn't mean it's okay to speed, aggressively drive, and tailgate other drivers on our highways and back roadways. We're asking everybody if you are travelling, please always make sure you put your safety as a priority each and every time you get behind that wheel."
He reminded drivers turn signals are mandatory, not optional.
"Drivers are not psychic, so they don't know when you are changing that lane or turning that corner. So to prevent a collision, make sure you indicate your turns."
If it's dark, foggy or rainy outside, make sure your full headlighting system is on so other drivers can see you.
Sanchuk also reminded everyone about the dangers of tailgating and how you should always leave lots of room between vehicles, just incase someone has to break suddenly.
