Burgessville - A trailer has been stolen from local business on Church Street in Burgessville.
Oxford OPP say the business was broken into sometime over the weekend and a company utility trailer was towed away from the property. The trailer is a 2014, Pace, 22 foot, dual tandem axle utility trailer, white in colour bearing Ontario marker M4711E. The front of the trailer is unique as it wraps around to the side and the trailer had a variety of old furniture and dishes inside.
Police estimate the trailer and it's contents are worth about $6,500. An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Oxford County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
The OPP is asking residents to be vigilant in recognizing suspicious people or vehicles that may be sitting in neighbour’s driveways when they are not home or vehicles that are travelling aimlessly up and down roads. The public should try to get descriptions, licence plate numbers and direction of travel and report this immediately to their local police service. It is important for this information to get to police when the suspects may still be in the area.
