About 5,000 Woodstock residents are without power this morning as The Woodstock Fire Departments works to put out a fire at a hydro transformer.
UPDATE: Power has been restored to the majority of the City. Hydro One estimates about 20 customers on Mill Street are still without power with an estimated restoration time of 6:00 pm.
WOODSTOCK - There are reports right across the entire city of power outages this morning. A hydro transformer has caught fire causing at least 5,000 Woodstonians to be without power this morning.
Woodstock Police have closed off Devonshire Ave. between Lansdowne Ave. and Springbank Ave. The Woodstock Fire Dept is on the scene working on the blaze.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
Some schools in the area are affected. St. Michael's Catholic Elementary school is closed today as a result.
