Now's your chance to get rid of anything you've had sitting in storage and take home something new to you!
EMBRO - Oxford People Against the Landfill are getting ready to host another Trashapaloozaha event in Embro.
OPAL Alliance Chair Bryan Smith says they have seen a lot of support in the past, and they're hoping this, the sixth Trashapaloozaha, will be just as successful.
"We've done them spring and fall for the past three years and then this year we've ramped it up and we're doing two in the spring. So 6 coming up in Embro and 7th coming up on the 7th of May in Woodstock."
Smith says this is one way to show how serious we are about diverting waste from the landfill.
"Well if garbage is an issue, we're going to show people how one man's trash can be another man's treasure. And so we've go these events which are an opportunity for you to bring in that useable thing that has been in your shed or garage or under the stairs or wherever those things accumulate and put it down and say good bye to it and allow someone who says I've always needed one of those to take it with them."
The event kicks off at 8 a.m. and Smith says there will be plenty of time to hunt for those treasures.
"Throughout the day we're inviting people to bring stuff right up until 2 o'clock but we suspect that even after 2 o'clock there will still be things so people are welcome to come and shop if you want until 4, except the notion of shopping there is put it in a bag, take it home, free, it's yours."
It's a completely free event happening at the Embro Community Centre on Saturday, April 23rd.
