Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario which includes Oxford is getting some provincial funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. They were given $87,400 to buy two vans, a pick up truck, trailer and three full sets of construction tools. CEO of Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario Jeff Duncan says the trucks and tools will allow them to serve more families in Oxford, Middlesex, Elgin and Perth counties. "The problem we had when we expanded, is we would have steering committees wanting to get going and transporting tools and equipment to various job sites is really expensive and we weren't able to get multiple projects started at once." Right now the organization is working on a build in Woodstock and have a family and land secured for another build starting this fall in Ingersoll. The official funding announcement took place in London on Wednesday afternoon.
