Maglin Site Furniture will match donations to United Way Oxford that are $1,200 or more.
OXFORD COUNTY - It's exciting news for United Way Oxford.
The organization is bringing back a leadership challenge grant, thanks to a partnership with Maglin Site Furniture and its employees.
Kelly Gilson, the Executive Director for United Way Oxford, says Maglin will match leadership donors.
"In our world, a leadership donor is an individual who gives $1,200 or more a year. So any new leadership donor will be matched or anyone who has already given and would like to give again to reach that level, their gift will be matched."
Gilson says Maglin is setting an example for other companies and businesses in Oxford County.
"Because of the generosity of Maglin Site Furniture and their employees, not only will this inspire individual giving, but there is competition out there to other local companies and other local employee groups to say hey you can do this too!"
Gilson says United Way Oxford is in desperate need of donations because the number of funding requests from local organizations this year has exceeded more than the fundraising campaign has ever realized.
"I have been here in this role for over 20 years and we have never seen anything like we have seen in applications for funding this year. We are well over double from last year, so a record amount, and the requests from agencies exceed what our campaign has ever realized. It's just not fathomable."
United Way Oxford provides financial support to local groups and agencies that fall under its three pillars: From Poverty to Possibility, Building Strong Communities, and Helping Kids Be All That They Can Be.
