WOODSTOCK - The RBC in Woodstock is hosting a charity barbecue today.
The event is in support of United Way Oxford.
Resource Development Coordinator, Chelsea Post says the local bank has been a longtime partner of the organization.
"RBC is hosting this event and they, for years and years and years, have a very long and extensive history in supporting United Way in both a corporate way and employee campaigns. So this instance of the barbecue is a great example of what local workplaces can do as a group of employees to kind of get engaged in their community and run a workplace campaign and a workplace event."
The barbecue has been put on by the RBC for the last couple years and it raised $1,700.00. Post says they're hoping this year's event will reach $2,000.00.
She says all of the money raised will go back to their Local Love campaign.
"That's our theme for this year is Local Love. We're all about raising awareness about the issues that people are facing locally here in Oxford County. And it's really key to highlight as well that people understand that all of the dollars raised through United Way Oxford stay local to tackle those local issues."
The event is free to attend. They will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs and you can take a picture with the police cars and fire trucks.
The bbq will go from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
