United Way was presented with a cheque for over $400,000.
INGERSOLL - The GM Canada Assembly Plant and Unifor Local 88 have made a huge donation to the United Way Oxford and United Way Elgin Middlesex.
Today they presented the local United Ways with a cheque for $482,071.
Executive Director for Oxford Kelly Gilson says this will go a long way towards their $1.2 million dollar fundraising goal.
"The eight percent I believe of our goal and today's announcement, when we factor that in, will certainly bring us up closer to our goal. So we're very excited about that."
Gilson says they still have a long way to go, however as they hope to raise some more money over the holidays.
