Several Mixed Media Art Kits and Community Creation kits will be delivered to children and families in need this year in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Art Gallery is teaming up with the Children's Aid Society of Oxford County to deliver mixed media art kits.
The kits will be delivered to several local families in need thanks to a sponsorship from RBC.
Head of Education at the Art Gallery Stephanie Porter says they will also be selling the kits to the general public.
"We've included activities for everyone on our virtual resource page on our website so that this program is accessible for everyone."
Each kit includes a sketchbook, drawing and painting supplies, artist quality papers, scissors, a paper punch, washi tape, Mod Podge, glue and an assortment of beads, sequins and stickers.
The kits cost $50 each and those interested in sculpting can also purchase a second kit for $75. The sculpting kit includes air dry clay, clay tools, drawing materials and an instructional book.
Porter says art education is very important for children of all ages.
"Art education is especially valuable at this time. It supports children in developing higher learning skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication and collaboration."
