City staff will continue to collect garbage and recycling in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock is going to continue to use city staff for garbage and recycling curbside collection.
They looked at offers from five other companies to do the job, but City Engineer Harold de Haan says they decided to choose their best option.
"It makes sense economically to continue to use the city forces and that's council reaffirmed again tonight; so we are going to continue to provide curbside collection with city forces."
de Haan adds we might have more recycling collection in the future.
"Council also directed us to increase the frequency of recycled collection. Right now it's every other week; we'd like to get it to be more frequent."
Garbage collection is currently once a week.
