The Woodstock Choralaires first Christmas concert in three years will take over Knox Presbyterian Church tomorrow starting at 3:00 p.m.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock's Ambassadors of Song are back this holiday season.
The Woodstock Choralaires are excited to perform in front of a live audience again for the first time in three years due to COVID-19.
Past President Heather Jones says their show titled "We Need A Little Christmas" is this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church, and you can get tickets online here or at the door.
"We're looking at doing mostly old favourites although we have a few pieces that I think people may not know, so they may become their new favourites. Our show will include lots of Christmas music, both secular and religious, and I think people will have a great time."
The choir of more than 60 members, including Conductor Geoff Warder and Accompanist Susan Barta. The Choralaires originated in 1966, and this weekend's two-hour concert will be the 54th in the group's history.
Jones noted that there will only be about 50 members on stage due to COVID concerns and that despite over 300 tickets sold already, there will be plenty of room to social distance for anyone with similar concerns who wish to attend.
Jones added that the sound is amazing at the church, and five of the members will be performing solos. It's also a great time to bring your child or grandchild along, who get in for free if they are 12 or under.
"It's always great to introduce children to theatre and this is a nice gentle way to introduce them to a theatre experience."
Tickets are $25 for the rest of the public, and you can find more information on the Woodstock Choralaires website.
Heather Jones stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Thursday December 8th. You can listen to the full interview below.
