Several Woodstock Police cruisers were spotted on Champlain Ave between Athlone Ave and Frontenac Crescent.
UPDATE 2: More information has been released regarding the shooting in Woodstock.
Police are saying a male was pronounced dead at the scene, while a female is recovering in the hospital with a gunshot wound. A post-mortem is scheduled today for the male.
Woodstock Police are holding the scene and waiting for judicial authorization to search for more evidence. It is being said that the male and female were in a relationship and it is being investigated through an Intimate Partner Violence lens.

UPDATE: One person has died and another was taken to hospital after a shooting in Woodstock.
Woodstock Police officers were called out to the Champlain Ave area at around 7:30 p.m. last night and they found two people with gunshot wounds when they arrived. One was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to hospital where they are expected to recover.
Police say the people involved knew each other and the gun has been recovered so there is no risk to public safety.
The investigation is still ongoing at this time and no charges have been laid.

WOODSTOCK - There was a heavy police presence in the south end of Woodstock
Woodstock Police posted on social media shortly after 10:00 p.m. yesterday asking the public to stay away from Champlain Ave between Athlone Ave and Frontenac Crescent.
It said a weapons-related investigation was underway but provided no further information.
