The Wellesley Applejacks have won the Schmalz Cup after celebrating a 3-2 win over the Clarington Eagles at Southwood Arena yesterday.
PJHL - For the first time in franchise history, the Wellesley Applejacks have won the Schmalz Cup!
They celebrated a 3-2 win over the Clarington Eagles yesterday with over 1,500 fans packing Southwood Arena in Woodstock.
The Applejacks secured their spot in the final after they beat the defending champion Lakeshore Canadiens 3-2 in overtime on Saturday.
Noah Bender, a rookie goalie for the Applejacks, was named the tournament MVP.
Wellesley advanced to the Schmalz Cup tournament on April 15, after beating the New Hamburg Firebirds 3-1 and winning the Doherty Division title.
