Kelly Byers of RE/MAX a-b Realty in Woodstock is the winner of this year's Realtors Care Award.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors has announced the winner of this year's Realtors Care Award.
Kelly Byers of RE/MAX a-b Realty in Woodstock is known for dedicating her spare time to the Oxford County community. She has been a WITAAR member for 13 years and she was honoured during the real estate board Christmas party at the Elm Hurst in Ingersoll on December 6th.
Byers is a member of the 100 Women Who Care Woodstock Chapter, an advocate for Blood Services Canada, and she's one of the founders of the Woodstock Community Sponsorship program. She's also the founder and organizer of the Realtors Care Food Drive, which has raised over 250,000 pounds of food for the Salvation Army over the past 12 years.
WITAAR President Anthony Montanaro says Byers is a very worthy recipient of the Realtors Care Award.
"She is diligent in her ongoing support to better the lives of individuals in the community of Woodstock and surrounding areas. Kelly exemplifies those REALTORS® who have made long-term contributions to the communities in which they live. They help to promote public awareness that REALTORS® are committed to their communities and care deeply enough to be actively involved.”
The real estate board is now going to donate $500 to the charity of Byers choice, Domestic Abuse Services Oxford. Byers explains why she chose the local women's shelter.
"I chose DASO because they are an important service in our community, and I know the holidays are extra tough. I also have several clients who relied on them in the past and I know they do amazing things."
