Dustin Schumann will be heading to Toronto for the Canadian Hairdresser Mirror Awards in April.
OXFORD COUNTY - A Fanshawe College alumni of the Oxford Campus's hairdressing program has sheared his way to a nomination for a national award. Just seven months after graduating Dustin Schumann received word he had made the top 5 finalists for the Newcomer of the Year award issued by the Canadian Hairdresser Mirror Awards. Schumann a hairdresser at Suki Salon in London submitted an application for the Canadian Hairdresser Mirror Awards.
"They put in a creative design to the Mirror Awards and it is three pictures and three styles -- they have be completely different, there's a great big list of rules and regulations you have to follow and he submitted his collection for Newcomer of the Year and he was nominated," said Deb Renaud, Coordinator of the Hairdressing program at Fanshawe College in Woodstock.
The winner of the Newcomer of the Year award will be announced in Toronto at the Canadian Hairdresser Mirror Awards gala in April.
