Teachers can sign up for a virtual tour for their students from the Woodstock Fire Department through Google Classroom.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Fire Department is available to virtual tours and talk fire safety with students doing online learning.
Public Information Coordinator Lisa Woods is encouraging teachers to get in touch and the Fire Department would love to visit as many classrooms as they can.
"We would be more than happy to get into the classrooms virtually and talk about fire safety with the kids and show them are gear. We know it is a tough time right now and parents are tired of it and teachers could use a break too, so we would be more than happy to get into the classrooms that way and keep kids fire safe while they are at home."
Woods says they're happy to chat about fire safety and even do a virtual tour.
"We will have the firefighters on the wheel floor if they are available and not on a call and then we can go around the trucks on our i-pad and show them all the equipment, plus the gear and the boat. Kids even like to see the lawn mower and the snow plow, so we can do that too, anything we can do in a class, we can do virtually."
Teachers, if you want to sign up for a WFD visit, you can reach out to Lisa Woods at lwoods@cityofwoodstock.ca. You can also reach out via social media and check out the WFD google classroom and Youtube page.
ATTENTION TEACHERS - WFD is still available for virtual tours and fire safety chats - email lwoods@cityofwoodstock.ca! We also have a google classroom https://t.co/TvdYANhUKk Password: grzwf7l
