A Woodstock man hit one vehicle and rammed a cruiser trying to avoid arrest on Sunday morning. Police eventually got their man and he is now facing multiple charges.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police say a wanted man slammed into a cruiser while trying to flee from arrest on Sunday morning.
Officers were trying to pull over the man with outstanding warrants around 9:30 am on Devonshire Ave near Woodall Way. The suspect tried to get away from police and hit another vehicle while trying to pass on the gravel shoulder of the road. When officers tried to block in the suspect vehicle on Devonshire Ave, the man chose to ram the cruiser, instead of stopping. The impact caused the cruiser to be not drivable and the man drove away.
He was eventually arrested about 20 minutes later on Palmer Lane. The 28 year from Woodstock is now facing the following charges:
- 5 Counts: Failure to Comply with Release Order
- Dangerous Operation
- 2 counts: Failure to Stop After Accident
- Flight from Peace Officer
- 2 counts: Possessing Counterfeit Money – have in custody
- 2 counts: Failure to Comply with Probation Order
- Driving While Under Suspension
The male has been held in custody for a bail hearing. Police did not release his name.
