A 42-year-old man was diagnosed with a fractured nose in hospital after his arrest in Tillsonburg.
TILLSONBURG - The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is no longer looking into the arrest of a 42-year-old man in Tillsonburg.
Officials say the Halton Regional Police Service Tactical Unit executed a search warrant on his home on November 12th, 2025 but a struggle ensued as a result. The officers used a conducted energy weapon and empty-hand control techniques to gain control of the situation, and the man was diagnosed with a fractured nose in hospital afterward.
He turned down an interview with SIU investigators and did not consent to his medical records being release. There was also no evidence of a serious injury, so SIU Deputy Director Stacey O’Brien has decided to discontinue the investigation.
The SIU investigates incidents with police that result in death, serious injury, sexual assault, and/or discharge of a firearm.
