Woodstock Police Brief includes a girl turning in her father for texting and driving, and a crash sends a woman to hospital
WOODSTOCK - It was a busy weekend for the Woodstock police.
On Friday, September 30th around 6:30 a.m. a 41 year old Brantford man ran a red light and struck another vehicle at the intersection of Clarke and Dundas. A 43 year old woman from Woodstock in the other vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries and the Brantford man was charged. There was $20,000 in damage to the vehicles.
On Saturday, October 1st around 10:30 a.m. police were called to a home on Henry Street after complaints of a fire without a permit. When officers arrived the fire was already extinguished but they did find two marijuana plants which were then seized. The 28 year old resident was given a warning about both the fire and the plants.
A 12 year old girl called police on Saturday, October 1st around noon. She said she was worried about her own safety because her father was texting and driving. The man was warned by police.
And sometime between late Saturday and early Sunday a Black 2007 Ford F150 was stolen from a driveway on Champlain Ave. Several tools were in the truck at the time. The license plate is AA99073
