Police catch a shop lifter on Norwich Ave and two vehicles were stolen over the weekend in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - It was another busy weekend for the Woodstock police who responded to 137 calls for service over the weekend.
On Friday night police were called out to catch a shoplifter at a shop on Norwich Ave. The man was wearing all black, with a black backpack and was spotted fleeing the store on an orange bicycle. Police found the suspect leaving another business in town wearing a red bandana over his face.
He tried to run from police on his bike and was eventually tracked down into a backyard where he tried to climb over a fence but couldn't make it.
The 34 year old man was arrested and is facing a number of charges.

Two vehicles were stolen from the Friendly City over the weekend.
Police say a 2008 Black Chevy Silverado was taken from a home on Cardigan Street sometime on Friday night. The truck was lifted with 20 inch rims and 35 inch mud tires. It also has a front light bar and a Kenmore Stereo System. The Ontario licence plate number is AF6 4421.
Another vehicle was taken on Sunday afternoon from the Walmart on Norwich Ave.
Police say an Ingersoll man parked his 2004 Chevy Tahoe and went shopping and when he returned the SUV was gone. The Tahoe is dark green with a roof rack and after market tires.
It has a the Ontario licence plate number of BYLS O88.
