A Woodstock teen will have her story to the world in tonight's Stand Up to Cancer telecast.
WOODSTOCK - You might be able to spot a familiar face if you tune into tonight's Stand Up to Cancer telecast.
Caitlin Timmins is a 16 year old Woodstock teen and a student at College Ave Secondary School. She was diagnosed with colon cancer when she was 9, it was found on her lymph nodes when she was 13 and again on her cervix last July.
When she was told chemotherapy was not an option last year, she underwent an immunotherapy clinical trial in Toronto. Her tumour shrunk 2.3 centimetres in the first three months as a result.
"I feel great now! During the trail I really had no side effects so nothing has changed in the past year."
Timmins story will be broadcast across the world tonight.
"I just want people to know that yeah clinical trials are scary to get yourself into but in some cases they are definitely worth it."
The show will be live streamed online here starting at 7 p.m. It will also be televised starting at 8 p.m.
