Volunteers are needed for Woodstock's Spring Clean Up on April 20th and the Community Tree Planting on April 27th.
WOODSTOCK - The month of April is all about taking care and protecting the environment.
With Earth Day and Arbor Day around the corner, the City of Woodstock is having two events you can volunteer for.
On Saturday April 20th from 8:00 a.m. to noon, the annual Spring Clean Up will be happening at Southside Park. Individuals, families, teams, are all welcome. Everyone will meet at the Parks Department facility to review safety tips and grab cleaning supplies. Transportation will be provided for designated locations.
The following, Saturday April 27th, Community Tree Planting Day returns from 8:30 a.m. to noon. This years tree planting will be at the top of Burgess Park, off of Tamarack Boulevard.
People attending will need to wear appropriate clothing, closed toe shoes, bring a bucket, shovel, mulch if possible and gardening gloves. Volunteers can also take a tree to plant at home. A barbeque will also happen after each event is done for anyone interested.
Pre-registration is not mandatory for either of these events, but it is encouraged. You can find more information on the City of Woodstock website here.
With Earth Day and Arbor Day coming up, April is all about taking action to protect the environment! Join us for our annual Spring Clean-Up on April 20 and Community Tree Planting on April 27.
