The U11 Woodstock Wranglers will be heading to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina next week to compete in The Ripken Experience.
WOODSTOCK - It will be the experience of the a lifetime for the U11 Woodstock Wranglers.
The team will travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina next week to take part in The Ripken Experience. Head Coach Jeff Shapton says it's so much more than a baseball tournament.
"I've taken other teams there and these kids don't remember if they win or lose a game. They remember being at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, that they played in the greatest facility and they played baseball down south which is the reason why I take teams to this tournament."
The opening ceremony and skills tournament will be taking place on Sunday July 3rd and the games will begin on Monday July 4th.
Shapton is happy to be working with this great group of kids.
"This team is a very strong team. We started the season with 22 wins, no losses and no ties. We've won two tournaments already and we've gone undefeated in both tournaments. They are an elite group."
Shapton says the Wranglers have 24 wins, two losses and two ties so far this season. You can find more information regarding The Ripken Experience Myrtle Beach online here.
