Youth will benefit from a donation made to the Woodstock Badminton Club
The Oxford Community Foundation is making an investment in youth sports.
Thursday night, a $500 cheque was given to the Woodstock Badminton Club that will go towards purchasing new rackets and eye protection for their youth programs.
OCF Grants Committee Chair Mary Anne Silverthorne says past grants went to seniors sports. "This year, they're being designated to programs for children who need extra development, particularly in the sports area."
Silverthorne says the OCF is able to help out local groups with "smaller grants" ranging from $200-$1000.
