This is the 5th MP to cross the floor in as many months, with the Liberals being one seat away from a majority government.
ONTARIO - Ontario MP Marilyn Gladu crossed the floor and joined Mark Carney's Liberal Party.
This happened early Wednesday morning, with Gladu being a part of the Conservatives since 2015, representing Sarnia-Lambton. She was elected four times as a Conservative before crossing the floor.
In a statement posted on social media, Gladu said she has heard clearly that they want "serious leadership and a real plan" to build the country. She is the fifth opposition MP to join the Liberals since November.
The Liberals are now at 171 seats, which is one short of the 172 they need for a majority government. There are three byelections on Monday that gives Carney the chance to get a more comfortable spot.
