WOODSTOCK - Beer stores across the Province, including locally in Oxford County are only accepting cash today.
A cyber attack hit the Beer Store on Wednesday night and all of their credit and debit capabilities are completely wiped out. Staff is having to do everything manually today. At the Beer Store in Woodstock they are only letting people use the drive thru right now.
We do know that they have IT teams working to fix the problem and the hope is that is only temporary. The cash only move comes at a time when many businesses are only allowing debit or credit purchases out of COVID-19 fears of the virus being transferred through money.
This is a developing story and we will provide you with more information when it becomes available.
