The Terry Fox flag will be raised at 9:00 a.m. in Museum Square.
WOODSTOCK - A flag raising is set to take place in the Friendly City.
Today at 9:00 a.m. Mayor Jerry Acchione will be joining Woodstock Terry Fox Run Community Organizer Steve Iorio, to raise the Terry Fox flag at Museum Square. Acchione will be reading a proclamation in recognition of Terry Fox prior to the flag raising.
The event is open to everyone and Iorio would love to see the community come together for this time honoured tradition in Woodstock.
Terry Fox himself briefly spoke in Museum Square back in July of 1980, when the Marathon of Hope stopped briefly in the Friendly City.
The Woodstock Terry Fox Run will be taking place in Southside Park on Sunday, September 20th and over $10,400 has been raised for cancer research so far.
