Ingersoll Candidate Profile - Sherry Ashby

The ballot for Ingersoll Town Council has another name on it, as Sherry Ashby has come forward as a candidate.

INGERSOLL - Another candidate has been put on the ballot in Ingersoll.

Sherry Ashby has lived in Ingersoll for 43 of her 50 years and works as the cheese and deli specialist for Farm Boy and manages the program for 9 different stores. Ashby says why she wants to run for council.

"I'm interested in putting my name out there and giving it a try and saying, hey, I would like to help Ingersoll grow."

Ashby mentions that she does not have any complaints about what the current council has done, but thinks her experience leading and managing employees would be a great benefit for council. She talks about an area she would like to work on if elected.

"I would love to make it easier for small business owners to open up. We have about 6 empty shops still downtown. We've done a lot of work down there, but I'd love to see those shops filled up."

She would also like to try to get more support for the homeless, as well as work on getting a second ice pad in the new Multi-Use Rec Facility. Residents head to the polls on Monday, October 26, 2026, for the municipal election.
