Robert McGuigan was hit by a second transport while trying to light flares on the road.
A Blenheim man has died while trying to help out a transport truck driver who had rolled his rig.
It happened just before 12:30 this morning in the west bound lanes of Highway 401 near Graham Road in West Elgin.
According to OPP a transport driver pulled to the shoulder but then rolled onto it's side blocking three quarters of the road.
Several vehicles stopped to help
As two men were on the road trying to light flares, a second transport collided with the rolled trailer while also hitting and killing the Blenheim resident.
Police have identified the deceased as 57 year old Robert McGuigan.
The other man helping on the road sustained just minor injuries.
OPP continue to investigate.
